The last word on the book blog this year goes to Mr Joy, who, sadly, is leaving SPS at the end of this term, but was kind enough to answer the book blog's questionnaire before departing.

Few things in life are worth a 17 year wait. I can say that with some certainty- I haven’t actually been alive for 17 years, and nothing has turned up yet. Nothing, that is, until the 19th October this year. “'Oumuamua!” I hear you cry, “the first interstellar object to ever be identified!” Well, interesting, but no. I am of course referring to Philip Pullman’s La Belle Sauvage, the long awaited (emphasis on long) sequel, or as it turns out, prequel, to the His Dark Materials trilogy.
